Selected Project Experience:
Conducted numerous Method 2 and Method 3 risk characterizations for contaminated sites in Massachusetts that fall within the Massachusetts Contingency Plan. Conducted numerous evaluations of petroleum contamination at disposal sites.
Developed multi-pathway risk assessments for contaminant emissions from combustion sources including hazardous waste incinerators, municipal waste incinerators, and cement kilns..
Assisted in the development of probabilistic risk assessment per the risk assessment reforms under consideration in the U.S. Congress.
Measured and modeled electromagnetic fields associated with electric power transmission lines at several existing and proposed utility projects in the Northeast. Documented current regulatory guidance on electromagnetic fields. Participated in public meetings to discuss the electromagnetic field analyses..
Developed pollution prevention plans for aluminum mills, biotechnology firms, and metal working facilities. Worked with these industries to identify sources of waste and to make process changes to reduce or eliminate the waste.
Participated in the evaluation of risks and hazards associated with a hot-mix asphalt production plant.
Developed software to estimate the firm yield of surface water reservoir systems in Massachusetts from meteorological data, stream flow rates, and reservoir characteristics. Developed documentation for the software and trained personnel at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection in using the software.
