1996-1999.   Director of Technical and Regulatory Affairs, Reusable Industrial Packaging Association, Landover, MD.  Supported the association members in regulatory compliance with EPA, DOT and OSHA.  Represented the Association on regulatory committees and panels.  Tasks included drafting comments and standards for national and international regulatory agencies and standards committees; researching, writing and presenting papers and reports on regulatory rulemakings and their implications for different industries. 

1994-1995.  Senior Environmental Specialist, Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, Oklahoma City, OK.  Project manager for RCRA state inspection contracts with county health departments.  Conducted RCRA compliance evaluation inspections and completed RCRA documents including administrative orders.  Conducted complaint investigation, hazardous waste sampling and provided industry specific workshops.

1990-1994.  Senior Environmental Specialist, Oklahoma City-County Health Department, Oklahoma City, OK.  Performed surveys and inspections of food service establishments, landfills, and institutional health facilities.  Assisted epidemiologists in the investigations of food-borne illnesses and communicable disease outbreaks.  Developed and presented training seminars for regulated industries.  Commissioned Oklahoma City officer and testified in judicial and public hearings.  Developed new regulations and served on public committees.

1988-1990.  Contract Manager, Laidlaw Environmental, Norman, OK.  Managed DoD hazardous waste removal contracts on military bases in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Colorado.  Tasks included preparing manifests, land disposal restrictions, and state disposal reports.  Ensured compliance with current EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations.

SELECTED PROJECT EXPERIENCE:

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances (OPPTS)

Supported the EPA in the review and interpretation of chemical and biological data pertaining to the fate and transport of pesticides in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.  Reviewed data include hydrolysis; photodegradation in water, soil, and air; biological degradation under aerobic and anaerobic conditions; laboratory batch equilibrium and column leaching in soil; volatility; and laboratory and field accumulation in plants and fish. 

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response

Supported the EPA in the development of reports on solid waste issues.  Tasks included drafting background documents, response to comments documents, and preambles for publication in the Federal Register.

ORIGINAL REPORTS:

Principal author/reviewer of approximately 150 reviews of studies on the environmental fate of pesticides that were submitted under Subdivision N Guidelines.

Principal author/reviewer of 36 acute toxicity reviews of studies on the ecological risk of pesticides that were submitted under Subdivision E and J Guidelines.
